Give your website images meaningful names
Images can generate a lot of traffic to your site from search engines like Google, so when you’re uploading them through a content management system it’s useful to give them meaningful, keyword rich filenames.

When you download an image from a digital camera onto your computer it will usually have a filename given to it by the camera, something like img100.jpg
So let’s imagine you’ve taken a photo of the interior of your bathroom showroom and you need to upload it to the home page of your website. Rather than uploading a file called img100.jpg you could rename it quickly on your computer to include some relevant and useful keywords.
So your image could be renamed stockport-bathroom-design-showroom-yourcompanyname.jpg
Adding keywords to your image file names will help with your overall SEO strategy and they’ll also be easier to find when you need to search for them on your computer or through the assets or media section of your content management system.
