A Person Centred Logo. A Person Centred P monogram logos. Dharma wheel shapes used in the A Person Centred Logo. A Person Centred supporting illustration.

A Person Centred is a small business that provides private Autism and ADHD assessments. The business is run by Steve, a registered Mental Health Nurse and BABCP therapist.

Steve is a Buddhist so we talked about creating a calm, inclusive and compassionate brand that had a link back to his beliefs. I love being able to tie someone’s personality into their branding so this was a real gift.

Steve talked passionately about the eight fold path, a key part of Buddhism that contains the foundations for a mindful and ethical life. The eightfold path is represented by the Dharmachakra or Dharma Wheel. The Dharmachakra looks a bit like a ship’s wheel and is very intricate so to create a logo out of it I realised I’d have to simplify it.

Once I had the Dharma wheel I used it to create a simple P shaped logo. The logo contains eight different sets of shapes that revolve around a central point. The shapes in the logo were taken from artistic representations of the Dharma wheel that I found on paintings in Buddhist temples.

The full logo can be abbreviated into just the P shape and the wheel itself can be deconstructed so the shapes can be used as icons or patterns. The accompanying colour palette is based on Tibetan monastic robes and prayer flags. As part of the branding I also created a series of calming illustrations for Steve to use on his website and in his other marketing materials.

Let’s work together on a design project

I love to work with businesses who have a positive impact on the world and see the value of great design. If you need some help with a web design or branding project I’d love to hear from you.
