I recently read that a local business had lost its Facebook page and with it nearly ten thousand followers. They tried to resolve the issue but couldn’t get through to Facebook and ultimately had to start again with a new page.

You have control over the content on your website but on social media you don’t own the content you’re posting.
Your social media accounts can also be taken away from you through a breach of regulations or an AI error.
Blog posts have the potential to bring visitors to your website for years. So I think it’s a good idea to make your website your main digital marketing tool.
By posting on your website and linking to it from your social accounts you’re essentially backing up your content. If you were to lose a social media account that content would still exist on your website.
Social media is a great way to reach out to people and start conversations, but it’s important not to rely on it. It‘s better to have your content alive and well on a platform you can control – your website.
